AAA Air Support Is International – Aerospace Industry Canada
With a growing and well-established leadership role in the domestic aerospace market of the United States, AAA Air Support is continuing to expand our impact into the global aerospace and domestic aviation market, as well.
And that impact is being felt in the aerospace industry of Canada, as well.
Canada: An Innovation and Export Leader in the Aerospace Industry
Last year, in November 2021, the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) and the Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) released a joint report for 2020 detailing the State of Canada’s Aerospace Industry.
Among the significant highlights of the report, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic was not as severe for the Canadian aerospace market as for many other international members.
According to a press release, large aircraft saw a much bigger drop in demand and production globally through 2020. However, due to the diversity of Canada’s aerospace sector including their strength in business aircraft, this decline of revenues was greatly mitigated in Canada. In fact, Canada ranked number two in the world in the manufacture of business jets in 2020, which was consistent with their pre-pandemic 2019 rankings.
Other key findings in the report included the fact that Canadian aerospace has maintained its position as a global leader in several segments:
- 1st in civil flight simulators
- 3rd in civil engines
- 4th in civil aircraft
In addition, the Canadian aerospace manufacturing industry exported over 75 percent of Canadian aerospace products to 186 countries across six continents in 2020.
As one Canadian government website points out, Canada’s aerospace companies possess strong world-class capabilities in, among other area:
- Design and production of regional and business aircraft, helicopters, small gas turbine engines, flight simulator systems, and landing gear
- Structural assemblies and components incorporating advanced materials, including composites, special coatings, and alloys
- Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) of aircraft and major systems, in-service support (ISS), and aftermarket logistics support
Canada and US: Supply Chains, Manufacturing, and MRO
A recent Commercial Guide from the official website of the International Trade Administration (ITA) noted that,
“U.S. and Canadian aerospace supply chains are highly integrated. Canada consistently ranks among the top five export markets for U.S. aerospace goods and received US$9.1 billion worth of exports in 2019 (approximately 60% of total sector exports to Canada). Canada exported an estimated 56.6% of goods from the Aircraft, Engine, and Parts Manufacturing industry to the U.S. in 2021.
It is noteworthy that the MRO subsector has grown by 26% over the last decade, and over 25% of Canada’s MRO activities are in the defense sector. In terms of geography, over 50% of Canada’s aircraft manufacturing occurs in Québec and 30% in Ontario; 41% of all MRO occurs in Western Canada.”
This is significant for AAA Air Support, as well, as we perform extensive MRO work for Canadian clients as well as supply materials for aerospace manufacturing.
The ITA’s Guide also points out that, due to several U.S.-Canada agreements, it is easier for U.S. aerospace companies to do business in Canada. These include the U.S.-Canada Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement (BASA), which facilitates airworthiness approval by Transport Canada of FAA-approved aerospace products.
Multilaterally, Canada is a signatory to the WTO’s Trade in Civil Aircraft Agreement, which ensures a “same-level playing field” between U.S. and Canadian aerospace companies.
And AAA Air Support is proud to be an integral part of this trade process.
According to the ITA, the trending opportunities for the United States – Canada collaboration include market growth in emerging markets with strong growth potential such as: MRO, Space, Drones, and Advanced Air Mobility (eVTOL)
In addition, the need for materials including sustainable raw material such as carbon free aluminum and eco-friendly materials, constitute another growing commerce trend between the two nations.
Reliability and Quality: International Sales and Service from AAA Air Support
AAA Air Support is proud to be a world-class manufacturer, as well as a stocking distributor of quality raw metal materials. Included among our wide range of products are roll formed stringers, aluminum extruded parts, various other aluminum items, steel, and titanium products that are routinely used in the international aerospace industry.
We offer a wide variety of aerospace parts and other metal supply services. We specialize in aerospace roll forming. Roll forming is a process that uses a coil or strip of metal, which is continuously passed through shaping rollers and dies to form the desired profile.
We can manufacture roll form products using various grades of aluminum, steel and titanium and we can produce roll form in sections up to 75 feet (22.86 m) in length, custom “one off” sections, and multiple production runs.
We are proud of our relationships with our loyal customers. These include Korean Aerospace Industries, Spirit AeroSystems, United and American Airlines, and Turkish Aerospace Industries.
In addition, we work closely with multiple international and domestic MRO Organizations.
AAA Air Support is committed to always shipping orders quickly and efficiently. Our primary goal is to consistently provide your company with the product, service, and time requirements to complete a project or get an airplane off the ground and back in the air.
