The U.S. International Trade Commission noted a few years ago that,
“The UAE is committed to establishing itself as a regional hub for civil and commercial space activities. It created the UAE Space Agency (UAESA) in 2014, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, and the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) in 2015 in Dubai.”
During a Space Agency conference in late 2021, Omran Sharaf, Chairman UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, was quoted as saying,
“Previously, a few organizations, mostly government owned were involved in the space sector. But now there are many companies in the space technology making collaborations easy. The UAE is playing a crucial role in changing the space sector into collaboration with different stakeholders to work on specific space projects. This costs less and things are done in a short period of time.”
Sharaf added: “Collaborations speeds up and accelerates things and this is what the UAE is up to. Calling on governments and organizations to collaborate in the development of the space sector.”

In 2020, the United Arab Emirates had an estimated population of close to 9.9 million. The inbound tourism expenditure in the UAE for 2019 accounted for 118.6 percent share of the outbound tourism expenditure, according to an entry in Wikipedia.

With 46 GCAA-registered MRO companies in the UAE, the country possesses excellent capability in aircraft MRO despite the challenging sandy, hot, and dry conditions. Eleven companies are working in Dubai in aircraft maintenance and repair and two in simulation manufacturing.”
